House Rules & Policy

We look forward to welcoming you to The Promenâd and hope you have an enjoyable stay.

When you make a booking, you are entering into a contract with us. Please take a moment to read the terms and conditions below.

1. General Information

The Promenâd is a small independant guest house offering room-only facilities, with breakfast available as an optional extra.

Breakfast is served between 8:00 am and 9:00 am.

All rooms are ensuite and include bed linen, towels, complimentary Wi-Fi, flatscreen TV, and tea and coffee facilities.

The Promenâd is a strictly non-smoking property (including e-cigarettes).

No candles or naked flames are allowed on the premises.

Pets are not permitted under any circumstances.

Children under 12 years old cannot be accommodated

2. Booking & Payment
Bookings can be made via our website, approved booking partners, or by telephone.

A valid credit/debit card is required to secure all bookings.- Full payment is due 7 days before arrival, unless booked on a non-refundable rate, in which case payment is taken at the time of booking.

We reserve the right to cancel a booking if payment is not received or if payment details are invalid.

We do not accept American Express or Diners Club cards.

3. Check-in & Check-out
Check-in: from 3:00 pm on the day of arrival.

Check-out: by 11:00 am on the day of departure.

Late check-out is not available.

We cannot provide baggage storage; however, you can use the Bounce app for local storage locations.

4. Keyless Access
The Promenâd operates a secure keyless entry system for both the main entrance and guest rooms.

A unique personal access code will be sent to you prior to your arrival, once our guest registration form is completed and full payment has been received.

This code is valid only for the duration of your stay and must not be shared with anyone else.

You are responsible for ensuring your code remains confidential and for securing the building by ensuring doors close properly behind you.

If your code is lost, forgotten, or shared with unauthorised persons, please contact us immediately at info@promenad.co.uk or by telephone on 01492 870998 for assistance.

Misuse of access codes or failure to comply with these conditions may result in termination of your stay without refund.

The Promenâd is not liable for any inconvenience or loss arising from guest misuse of access codes.

5. Guest Responsibilities
Only registered guests are permitted in the property.

For security Guests must not let anyone into the building.

Guests are asked to respect others by keeping noise to a minimum, especially between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.

For hygiene and safety reasons, hot food (e.g., takeaways, kebabs, etc.) may not be consumed in guest bedrooms.

A guest dining room is available on the ground floor for hot food, with waste bins provided for packaging disposal.

6. Damages, Breakages and Lost Property
Please take care of our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages that you cause to the accommodation and its contents.

It is important you notify us immediately of any incidents. We may make an additional charge if damage or breakages are not reported promptly.

We do not normally charge for minor breakages; however, we may send an invoice for repairs if the damage or breakage is significant.

Wilful damage will incur the full cost of replacement or repair.

Lost property will be held for four weeks from the date of departure. After this time, it will be disposed of. We do not mail items; it is your responsibility to arrange collection.

7. Cancellation Policy
Standard Booking: Free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival or no-shows will be charged the full cost of the booking.

Non-refundable Booking: No refund is available for non-refundable bookings.

We strongly recommend that guests take out travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations

8. Housekeeping
Courtesy room service can be provided daily

To request this service, hang the service card on the outside of your door before 11:00 am each day.

Courtesy housekeeping includes making the bed(s), emptying bins, and replacing any used tea/coffee facilities.

Towels are not replaced for 1- and 2-night stays. For longer stays, towels are replaced after 3 nights only. This policy helps protect our planet, and we kindly ask guests to support our environmental policy by hanging towels up after use.

9. Non-Smoking Policy
Upon booking, you agree to our non-smoking policy.

Smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, or using a naked flame is not allowed in any rooms, nor is interfering with our fire detection system.

Breaching this policy may result in immediate termination of your booking without refund, and you will be required to leave the premises.

You authorise The Promenâd to charge £100 for refumigation and any additional costs for time the room is unusable.

A designated smoking area is provided at the front of the property.

10. CCTV
All communal areas in the building are covered by CCTV, which records both video and audio at all times.

11. Liability
The Promenâd accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings.

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your booking due to circumstances beyond our control, a full refund will be issued.

12. Privacy, Data & Marketing Consent
The Promenâd collects and processes guest information solely for the purpose of managing bookings, guest stays, and communications.

Personal data is shared only as necessary with our keyless access provider and booking system to facilitate your stay. No other third parties receive your information, except as required by law or for payment processing.

Guests may review, correct, or request deletion of their personal data by contacting us via info@promenad.co.uk.

By providing your information, you consent to its use for booking management, communications, and marketing (if you opt in).

Marketing consent can be withdrawn at any time, and withdrawal will not affect the processing of bookings already made.

13. Acceptance of Terms
By making a booking with The Promenâd, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.

Cancelation Policy

Free cancellation is only available for Standard Bookings up to 7 days before check-in. All Non-refundable Bookings and cancellations made within 7 days of a Standard Booking are subject to the full cost of the stay. For protection against unforeseen circumstances, we recommend securing your own travel insurance.
